Robyn Wilson

About

Robyn is a Melbourne based artist, her strong interest in architecture and urban scapes  inspires her art practice. Robyn immerses herself in the inner city streets of Melbourne passing through modern building interiors responding to reflective light, and illusions created by the architecture of these sometimes grand spaces. Robyn also records the interaction of people within these busy environments, in particular the iconic coffee shop which serves as a communal hub of activity and flurry. This visual play between people and their architectural surrounds is recorded in a painterly manner responding to shapes, form and colour passing into another world momentarily.

Robyn Wilson owned a busy fashion jewellery business for thirty years and was the principal designer and artistic director. During this time Robyn travelled extensively to major cities in the world gaining inspiration for her work. The love of design, colour and patterning continues as an influence in her current art practice.

Robyn holds a Bachelor of Fine Art in Painting from the Victorian College of the Arts (Melbourne University) and a Diploma of Visual Art and Robyn has exhibited in numerous exhibitions.
